Derk Jacobs Kruizinga was the 4th son of Jacob Cornellis Kruizenga. Derk and his wife Gerritje Jans Knol had 5 living children that include (from oldest to youngest):
Eiske Kruizinga - married Okke Evenga
Aaltje Kruizinga - married Jan Dekker
Jantje Kruizinga - married Roelf Bolt
Jacob Kruizinga - married Janna Nannenga
Trijntje Kruizinga - married Klaas van der Veen
I was surprised to learn that ALL of Jacob's sisters with their respective families - with the exception of Aaltje - emigrated to Grand Rapids, Michigan. Only Aaltje and their father Derk Jacobs remained in the Netherlands. Gerritje Jans Knol passed in the 1840s.
Today I visited the gravesite of Eiske Kruizinga and her husband Okke. Their daughter Gerritje married into the Stryker family. Not certain who the Strykers were, but there were a lot of them adjacent the graves I visited. I will return and snap pictures of these other graves as time allows.
