One of the scans I took this weekend was of the following woman. I am attempting to place the era she is from. From what I have determined, her clothing style is from the 1880s: straight dress, bodice with high-collar, tight arms cut short at the forearm. In the mid-late 80s the women wore a bustle which accentuated the back. It does not appear from this photo that this is yet the case. I am thinking she is from the early 1880s. Who then could she be?
I was in high hopes that this might be Jennie - Jacob's 3rd wife. But I don't see how this is possible. Jennie was born in December of 1836. If she were the woman in the photo she would be around 43-45. I think she is much younger than that. But if she is not Jennie... then who? Jacob's daughters Jessie and Carrie were born in 1858 and 1860. This would place them in their early 20s at the time this photo was taken. Does this woman appear to be in her 20s? And look at that hair. That's a lifetime of growth.
