Emigrants from Derk Jacobs Kruizinga lineage
Eiske Derks Kruizinga, her husband Okke Evenga, and her 3 daughters Trientje, Gerritje, and Grietje, emigrated from Antwerp, Belgium via the "Ottawa" to New York arriving on 9 July 1867. They settled in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In 1880, Okke was living as a new widower with his son-in-law and his daughter: both worked as peddlers. Okke Evenga died on 31 March 1896. He is buried at Oakhill Cemetery, Block D, Lot 40, Space 1. His wife Eiske Kruizenga Evenga is buried next to Okke. She died on 20 Feb 1880.
Gerritje Evenga married Andries Dekker. Grietje Evenga married Jan Stryker. Gerritje Evenga Dekker was a member of the Beckwith Christian Reformed Church as was her Aunt Trijntje Kruizinga VanderVeen.

Jantje Derks Kruizinga, her husband Roelf Bolt, and sons Klaas, Jacob, Gerrit, and daughter Jocha(?), emigrated from London, England or Le Havre, France (ship parted from both ports) via the "Cella" arriving on 23 May 1868. They were heading for and settled in Grand Rapids, Michigan. 1870 Census shows Roelf working as a laborer while sons Derk, Klaas, and Jacob work in a pail factory. Interesting to note that Derk is not on the Cella passenger manifest. Did he come before or after the family? Roelf died on 22 Oct 1884 and is buried in Valley City cemetery presumably in the potter's field.
