Jan. 1, 1974 - Mary Margaret (DeYoung) Kruizenga (born July 27, 1914), Jacob Derk's wife dies. She is buried at Fairplains.
November 22, 1974 - Jacob Derk Kruizenga dies. He is buried at Fairplains Cemetery in section "O" right by the stake.

LOCAL MAN FOUND DEAD AT HUNT SITE
Jacob D. Kruizenga, 62, of 4142 Grand River Dr. NE, was found dead friday afternoon by a neighbor, Harry Schaap, in a wooded area behind Schaap's home at 4623 Grand River Dr. NE. Dressed in red clothes and seated against a tree, Kruizenga was pronounced dead of natural causes at the scene by Dr. Walther D. Meester, County Medical Examiner. Kruizenga had retired in June from the Fisher Body Division Plant No. 1 of General Motors Corp. Surviving are a daughter Kathryn J.; two sons, David D. and Daniel L., and two sisters, Mrs. Charles Meindersma and Mrs. Henry Adema, all of Grand Rapids, and five grandchildren.
